Relationships are an integral part of our culture at
The Enchanted Garden. We believe that these
should be responsive and reciprocal with all
involved as it takes a village to raise a child.
We believe that parents know their own child the best and are their first teachers.
Therefore we support and work in partnership with our whānau to support the ongoing
learning of their child.
We value quality interactions down at the child’s level, being aware of their needs. We like
to laugh, play and learn alongside the children.
We encourage children to grow up as unique, capable and confident learners by providing
them with a balanced programme that incorporates opportunities for planned and
spontaneous play.
We acknowledge the importance of each child and whanau cultural values/beliefs. We strive
to uphold these within our programme and incorporate and respect the beliefs and values
of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ao Māori.
Te Whāriki is the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum which is incorporated into all
areas of the children’s learning pathways. This document also supports teachers to provide
a holistic and inclusive curriculum for all tamariki working alongside all involved in the
learning journey.
