nursery dramatic play

Imagination is one of the strongest tools of communication and learning that children have at an early age. By replicating events that they see at home and exploring the use of props, language, and other toys, children are often able to understand their world better. We love to encourage this play and see the children develop this individually and in groups.

Our goals for children’s learning in this area are:

  • Encouragement of imaginative play using a wide variety of props and toys.
  • To develop strong individual and cooperation play behaviors and communication.

  • Providing access to a wide range of multi-gendered props and encouraging creative and dramatic play.
  • Encouraging children to play independently and together, in a wide variety of storylines and situations.
  • Taking part and playing with the children to allow them to grow confident in their own dramatic and creative abilities.
